Projet Shibori take 2

Project number two is a very small variation on project 1.

Correcting the mistakes of the first project.

No marbles but plastic beads. No tied threads but elastics.

Some of the beads still fell out. Maybe they were too small. The scarf was knitted with 3 balls of Highland Chunky Peruvian collection from Elann in Grape Heather colour.

After the felting.

6 beads fell off out of 18. Not bad. I didn't really find a pattern to the beads that fell out except that they all fell out from the front. So I'm guessing the wool tied to tight the openings between threads to large. Add agitation and out they fall.

The felting time is just fine. It's blocking now.

Knitting Olympics / Jeux Olympiques du tricot

I did a little last minute shopping in the late morning. I stopped by Pier Import, essentially for a Valentine's table center for my mom, but I spotted the basket wall. The clerk was not busy and welcomed me with a big smile and a "Can I help you?" . So we found a big, fat red scented candle and a candle holder in the Valentine spirit. Then I asked ... I'm looking of a basket to hold my knitting. She went oh... you knit... this is so cool... So we examined the baskets lined up, I explained why I needed it (Knitting Olympics) She thought this was amazingly cool. : )

Finally, we found this light, braided basket. I just fell for it. So my knitting Olympics project is well protected and I can just pick it up and go.

Basket in front of the fire place. Since it's very cold today I really was happy for the fire place.

What's in the basket : 4 Skeins of Sabrina Four seasons, Bamboo needles (4.5 mm), row counter, Wavy pattern held up by "Last minute knitted gift" book. Behind the book, I have the rustic scarf on circular needles.

I'm up to row 25 of 44 of the first repeat. So far Wavy is fun to knit

Wavy châle

J'ai travaillé depuis un peu moins d'une semaine sur ce châle "Wavy" de Red Heart.

Il est très doux et super facile à réaliser.

This shawl will make its way to Wales to keep warm a dear friend of mine.
