Knitting update

These are pictures taken last week. Ive since then finished My so-called scarf from Sheep in the city in Flame Manos. I just loved knitting with this yarn. It's a good thing I bought three skeins.

So pictures...

I'm in the last third of the humongous BBB (Big Baby Blanket from Stitch and Bitch) in white 100% cotton flamé Tropica plus (made in Holland). I had 3 big balls of it (250 g each) I'm a little more and half way thru the second ball. It's comfy. I'm making 6 squares instead of 4, might do 8 if I find that I have the will to continue after the third repeat is done.

I also pinned my mom's red wrap. She knitted this one. It's the same as my oatmeal one I knitted a few months back. It's reduced my Red Heart yarn (in red) to 2 balls. Yes.

And I'm sorry to announce that my Branching Out is not doing well. I had to frog all of it. I lost a stitch and couldn't get it back. But I'm not quitting just kinda taking a break. I've started on a clapotis (in Bernat Satin Sable another reducing yarn project) for a friend who is going to hike the Kilimanjaro in the fall. It's acrylic but soft acrylic.

I'm playing with the Flickr interface to post pictures. Not much flexibility unlike Photobucket.

This is my Branching out in progress on the wrong side of the work. Because I'm not that bright when it comes to taking pictures. : )

I finally transfered my clapotis picture and took some of my Branching out in progress. I'm up to 6 repeats and hit a snag. I lost a stitch. I think I frogged below the problem row. I'm gonna know when I knit the next two rows.

Project Spectrum May

J'ai terminé le clapotis commencé en octobre dernier. Made with Baby alpaca/silk yarn on 3mm bamboo needles it was a long, tedious task but it came out nice.

The blocking job is the worst, the very worst I've done. I'll see how it comes out. The wrap is already promised.

Hence Project Spectrum May is done.

I've been trying to do the Branching out pattern from Knitty with the same yarn. I'm on my fourth time frogging. I will master lace knitting even if it's the last thing I do. My last attempt, I was up to my fourth repeat before I screwed up. I'll conquer this. I will.

Bracelet en tricot /Icord bracelet

Alice from slipped stitch posted a tutorial on Icord beaded bracelets. I have lots of neat yarn samples around and beads I get at flea markets or garage sale. ( I buy old bracelets, etc). So I knew as soon as she posted the tutorial last week that I would try it.

I did this afternoon. It's fun and quick. I got to play with my tiny DPN. Squee.

The two bracelets are not really fantastic, my first tries rarely are but I like it enough to make a few for friends in the weeks to come.

Pics!

The Red Wine bracelet is done with some left over no idea what kind of yarn and the yellow one is a Cashcotton 4 ply sample by RYC I had.

C'est un projet facile et rapide, peu coûteux et qui permet d'utiliser les restants de laines et les perles et cossins que nous ramassons. : )
